First Community Bank Announces Leadership Moves
LEXINGTON, S.C., January 10, 2024 – First Community Bank is pleased to announce promotions and additions to its executive leadership team. Effective July 1, 2024, J. Ted Nissen will become CEO of First Community Bank while still retaining the role of president and will also be joining First Community’s board of directors. Effective January 1, 2024, Drew Painter and Vaughan Dozier will become executive vice presidents in the roles of co-chief commercial and retail banking officers and will join the bank’s executive leadership team. Mike Crapps will continue in his role as president and CEO of First Community Corporation.
In his new position as CEO, Mr. Nissen will be responsible for the leadership of day-to-day bank operations, including its mortgage and financial planning lines of business. Mr. Painter and Mr. Dozier will be responsible for leading First Community’s network of banking offices. Painter will be the chief commercial and retail banking officer – North Division, including the Columbia, Piedmont and Upstate regions and the bank’s business services area. Dozier will be the chief commercial and retail banking officer – South Division, including the Lexington, Northwest Columbia and Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) regions and the bank’s branch administration area.
Mr. Crapps will continue to focus on board governance, investor relations, strategy development and growth decisions including new markets and mergers/acquisitions, client retention and prospecting, and leadership development.
Commenting on the changes, Mr. Crapps said, “We are excited about Ted’s promotion to CEO of First Community Bank. He is a founding member of our executive leadership team and understands our business and culture on a deep level. Drew and Vaughan have been with our bank for 20 and 15 years, respectively, each incredibly successful in their various roles, having most recently served as regional market presidents. Each also has been recognized by the South Carolina Bankers Association as the Young Banker of the Year. These changes to our executive leadership team will preserve our bank’s culture and prepare for its long-term success and sustainability, benefitting us now and in the years ahead.”
In addition, Bryan Goodyear and Jamie Addison have been promoted to regional market president for the bank’s Columbia and Lexington regions, respectively. Both Goodyear and Addison have been with the bank for over a decade in the Midlands market. Mr. Nissen commented, “Bryan and Jamie are seasoned and talented bankers who will positively impact these important markets for the bank in their new leadership roles.”
