Information Security Officer

Location: Administrative Office - Lexington, SC

The Information Security Officer I (ISO) is responsible for ensuring appropriate controls are in place for the security of information assets. The ISO safeguards information by seeing that security risks are identified, assessed and accurately reported. Additionally, the ISO is charged with ensuring local procedures and activities comply with all regulatory requirements and internal policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. The ISO is the center of competence for Information Security providing an advisory services role and acting as the focal point for security compliance related activities and responsibilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Information Security and GLBA Programs for a $1 billion bank
  • Overseeing and reporting on the management of Information Security risks
  • Mitigating information security risks across the Bank
  • Oversight and reporting on Information Security matters.
  • Responsible for protecting non-public information held by the bank
  • Presenting regular status reports to Executive Leadership Team and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Participation in major information technology projects of the Bank, including resources and facilities, products and services, risk assessments and policies and procedures
  • Information Security and overall Cybersecurity awareness and training
  • Leadership of Bank Business Continuity Plan (BCP) efforts, working with IT and Department Heads to review and test at least once per year
  • Leads the Vendor Management Program, working closely with Finance and IT


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years related experience and/or training. Work related experience should be in banking field. Information Security, IT and Audit experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Bank operations and lending products and services; related state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.
  • Mastered knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.
